“A coalition of mental health experts within Larimer County are working together to expand treatment options to all corners of the county and expect to ask voters for a sales tax to help pay for this behavioral health initiative.
Laurie Stolen, the county’s behavioral health project director, mentioned the possible ballot issue Tuesday as the Larimer County Commissioners prepared to vote on a resolution declaring May as Mental Health Awareness Month.
She, along with treatment providers and health district officials, sat before the commissioners and spoke of how behavioral health issues and solutions are community-wide.
“It really does take a community to address these really important issues,” Amy Kegg, marketing specialist with SummitStone Health Partners, told the commissioners.”
