Larimer County mental-health tax wins big

We are excited the Larimer County Issue 1A passed with a 67 percent approval.

“We’re going to save a lot of lives over the years to come, with this mental health initiative,” said Gil Barela, campaign manager for the pro-1A effort.

“During the campaign, proponents of the initiative said that without a local treatment center, dealing with mental and behavioral health issues in adults has fallen largely to police officers.

Support for the measure came from advocacy group Citizens of Larimer County for Mental Health Matters, which is composed of county employees and members of the public.” – Reporter-Herald
