New SummitStone Board Member – Heather Buoniconti

Introducing our newest Board member, Heather Buoniconti

SummitStone Health Partners is pleased to welcome the newest member of our Board of Directors, Heather Buoniconti. Heather is the Chief Development Officer for the Food Bank for Larimer County, a position she’s held since 2005. Prior to joining the Food Bank, Heather served as the Executive/Development Director and National Trainer for the American Cancer Society. She has more than 24 years of nonprofit experience and specializes in financial and budgetary management, fundraising, event planning, community relations, strategic planning, and board development. She has successfully raised funds for two multi-million capital campaigns and has served on local and national advisory boards and committees for fundraising strategies and other hunger related issues. She is actively involved in many different areas in Northern Colorado including serving on the steering committees for Leadership Fort Collins and 40 Under Forty and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Fort Collins, Foothills since 2006.

I am so pleased to have Heather join the SummitStone Board. Her expertise from the nonprofit sector and extensive experience collaborating with community partners will serve to strengthen our already remarkable Board. Throughout her career, Heather has excelled in navigating complex community systems. She also brings a passion for our work – to improve the lives of our families, friends, and neighbors. I look forward to her contributions as SummitStone continues to expand services offered, recruit and retain talented employees, and impact our communities as a leader in behavioral healthcare.

Heather BuonicontiFrom Heather: “I was honored to be invited to serve on the SummitStone Board of Directors and I am looking forward to learning even more about the remarkable things this organization is doing in our community. I feel strongly that we need to do more to increase the awareness of issues and opportunities surrounding mental and behavioral health, destigmatize the elements of something so many in our community face, and address our mental health in the same way as our physical health. My personal and professional experiences have provided a perspective that is both unique but also a common occurrence for many, and that can be as simple as just knowing where to begin and how to navigate the process. I am excited to be a part of an amazing group of individuals and to learn more about how I can support the incredible work they are doing in our community.”
