An inaugural effort for behavioral health in Colorado. The new Acute Care Behavioral Health facility at the Longview Campus serves Larimer County residents in need of urgent help for mental health and/or substance use disorders.

The new facility provides licensed, equitable, and culturally relevant care and treatment to individuals in crisis with mental health and/or substance use disorders. This facility serves anyone residing in Larimer County in need of urgent intervention for mental health or substance use regardless of race, color, ethnic or national origin, ancestry, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, creed, political beliefs, or disability.

The facility is located at 2260 West Trilby Road in Fort Collins. Completion of this project brought almost 200 jobs to Larimer County while filling much-needed critical services. The facility opened to the public for services on Dec. 2, 2023.

New & Enhanced Services

Larimer County contracted with SummitStone Health Partners to provide clinical care and treatment at the Acute Care Behavioral Health facility. The innovative design of the facility and the unique approach to care allows individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis to access multiple levels of care at one location. A comprehensive care team is available 24/7 to accept, assess and assure care for all individuals who arrive at the facility. An intake team is available for a seamless transfer of care for those in crisis from family, law enforcement officers, and other first responders. A highly-trained care team provides the appropriate level of care for the appropriate amount of time and coordinate a care plan before being discharged.

Services at the facility include:

24/7 Walk-in Behavioral Health Urgent Care

Withdrawal management (Medical & Non-Medical)

Crisis stabilization unit (CSU), a short-term inpatient program for individuals with moderate to severe acute psychiatric or co-occurring crises
